catgate
It is not often that robins are seen in a group. There were actually five just before I took this 'photo this morning. It has taken this cold weather and some "generous feeding to get the sociable. Up to this last few days there have been one or two "differences of opinion" as to whose territory it was.http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v338/cat...rent=4robs2.jpg
artist
We just get the two - only one 'owns' the garden though and he sees off the other one. Same with the blackbirds.
AlanHo
At present all the birds seem to be less territorial - yesterday we saw 3 robins on the lawn and two on the bird feeder - all at the same time. Plus we currently have several blackbirds and thrushes in the garden at the same time. Perhaps they are too cold to bother fighting. We have a large prunus tree at the bottom of the garden which is currrently the target of dozens of bullfinches scoffing the blossom buds. They were shooed off this morning by a flock of magpies which descended into the tree - I counted 11 on the side of the tee facing the house and there must have been a similar number on the opposite side. I have never before seen so many magpies congregate.
