Think we aught to re-launch the "Save The British Banger Campaign"

Provided it is directed at free range organic sausages that have been given a nice childhood.

(I assume you are not meaning the November 5th Thunderflashes and Canons of my youth that could blow your hand off)

The French eat radishes for breakfast thus:

"French Breakfast is an elongated red-skinned radish with a white splash at the root end. It is typically slightly milder than other summer varieties, but is among the quickest to turn pithy."

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radish

In view of that, I anticipate some pithy comments.

I recall that, when I was a weanie, my father grew some of these "delectable morsels". I was not very old but had been able to read the legend on the seed packet, which he had tied to the stick marking the end of the row in the garden.

I was most put out when I was told that I could not have some for my breakfast.

When I did eventually taste them I was more than pleased that my original aim was thwarted.

I feel it coloured my view of the French for life.
