doug
I am! Nearly had a scare last night. The new PC is using on-board graphics, the old one was using a graphics card with a digital cable connector. Fortunately, after rummaging through I found my original analogue VDU cable. So everything is fine. Simply have to continue transfering everything over from the old PC. Have also decided to start using Open Office instaed of the very old M$ Office. The Excel can be read but not the derived calculations. Some playing to do.

doug
Fat chance, she's going to be 14 this coming Sunday and I'm sure she knows what she's going to spend her shekels on!
-pops-
I was using that a little euphemistically. You can buy it yourself - all that is required is to nominate a student and name their school. You can do all the paying etc. yourself.

doug
Have now run into snag No.2. Because I was going to move over to Thunderbird on the new PC I transfrred all my old Outlook Express stuff over to Thunderbird to get used to it. I now need to copy it all over to the new PC but can't find any way of exporting it. Have just looked on the Mozilla thunderbird help Forum and not that someone else is struggling with the same problem. I am, at this moment back on the old PC (after crawling under desk for cable and connection swaps) but can't make any progress. I am using an external Hard drive for this exercise. Any pointers anyone? I'll say thankyou very much after it works.

rong
You can get your address book through import, but I can't see how to move mails
doug
No, I'm at the first step trying to find out how to export to my external drive.
catgate
Surely if you just plug it in it will be recognised by your new system as a new piece of hardware (P&P). ..or does it have to have its own driver. Once it is recognised you can copy to it.Or have I done my usual trick
Irene
No, I'm at the first step trying to find out how to export to my external drive.I was doing similar this morning. One thing I did discover is that I had to copy the files from my external hard drive back to my new C-drive before they would import into Outlook 2007.By the way, Office 2007 includes Outlook - not Outlook Express..
