catgate
Several hundred years ago a group of barons and knights met the King at Runnymede. The King was the ruler and the Bs and Ks were the folks who funded his excesses and were getting fed up of it.The king was replaced eventually by the charade with which we are now blessed.A similar thing happened in the late 1700s in France when Madame le Guillotine made her presence felt. That time is coming again, not just here in UK but world wide. The present regimes in the far east are simmering away. The whole of Europe is steadily coming up to pressure. It will happen....big time. Please can I be gone before it happens? -pops-
They'll wheedle themselves out of it - be sure of that. Even if convicted they'll end up in Ford Open Prison (not far from here and where the inmates seem free to go shopping in Chichester - and go to the pub any time they want). Additionally they will "see the light" and become born again Christians as appears to happen to so often (Jonathan Aitken springs to mind but there are others). Gandalph
George Galloway had the best idea last night on 'Questiontime", as has been suggested on this Forum several times and that was 'Get rid of the lot of them". :D

AlanHo
I reckon the judge must have suffered from a puritanical fetish. If this chap had threatened the occupants with a knife and stolen their money, TV and video - he would have got at most a few months promasterbation or a suspenders sentence. So he knicked a few knickers - hardly the same thing is it................. catgate
I had another look at the photograph and came to the conclusion that the burghers of Preesall and Knott End in Lancashire must be an odd crowd if they have twice elected this specimen as Mayor. What were his competitors like? -pops-
Wasn't it the norm that a mayor should be a person of some character, standing and importance within the community, not a "handyman or gardener"? From the report, he certainly was a handyman though.

andsome
He claims to have been naive. How can it be naive to submit false receipts? Not naive, just a stinking rotten thief.

Robbers Dog
How many of the righteous few who post on here never fiddled their expenses during their working life. andsome
How many of the righteous few who post on here never fiddled their expenses during their working life. It's a well known fact that salesmen are the biggest tea leafs of all.I had to put in receipts for every mortal thing, even a ten pence note book. I would have defied anyone to pull the wool over the eyes of my boss, and would never have dared to try. These M.P's were supposed to be in a position of trust, and it was public money supposed to be owned by the population as a whole that they were stealing. No where near enough of them have been charged.
