It's the same up here in the Borders, although not quite advanced than yours down South as the Winter cold has dragged on a little bit longer. Our flowering cherry is just starting to show signs of pink. I think I have a Japonica bush dying off.I would buy that Gargoyle a pint or something. We have a pinking up of the flowering cherries, the flowering peaches are just starting to flower and the damsons are just flowering. AlanHo Posted April 21, 2010 Report Share Posted April 21, 2010 It's a lovely garden Alan.Where are you hoping to move to?It was reported in the Daily Mail last month (a paper I trust with complete faith), that 80% of all road accidents occur within 2 miles of your home - so we have decided to move.The house and especially the garden is now proving too big for us and is expensive to maintain. Neither of us are as young as once we were and we both have heart conditions. We therefore want to downsize and are looking for a smaller house within a radius of about 15 miles because we want to remain close to friends and family. The search is proving quite difficult because we have a list of requirements we are trying to satisfy(including the need for a good broadband connection so I can keep an eye on you lot). We had the house on the market in 2007/2008 - and no sooner had the for sale sign gone up than we were hit by the credit crunch. The timing could not have been worse and we had only 4 viewings in 12 months. So we have left it for a year or so and have decided to have another go with a different agent who seems more "lively". We are not in a particular hurry and can take our time - if the house sells before we find a sutable new place - we will put our stuff into storage and either move into rented accommodation or stay in our static caravan out in the Wyre Forest for a while. The prices have gone down by about £25000 - it's still quite an expensive area though. Gone are the days when seaside properties were cheaper than in the towns...
