"Marrero, who has convictions for theft from the 1990s, is free on $US7500 ($7600) bail for theft by deception and receiving stolen property charges from 2009, the Eagle reported."

"She is due back in court in April and could face six months of house arrest and be forced to wear an electronic tag."

We definitely need more ponds here in Japan! It seems that no female is able to walk in this country without the keitai (mobile phone) in front of their face. Other (male) pedestrians are constantly navigating around texting females; it's an epidemic...

This is in accordance with the current trend of blamin other people for our misfortunes instead of accepting responsibility for them ourselves. Fortunately she wasn't walking aling a boat jetty.

On the subject of multitasking, it is reputed that President Bush (don't know which one, possibly it was both) couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time.

Actually it wasn't either of them this particular slur was aimed at Tricky Dickies replacement President Gerald Ford. Largely as he appeared to have two left feet and the ability to trip over deceptively smooth and unobstructed surfaces.

This is pandemic, pat.I can't go to an eatery without having to wait on the server to finish up the texting thing.Or order a drink at a local pub.Or ask directions.Or complete a conversation without being forced to wait for someone to read their latest text.

It makes me sick with disgust.I wonder what it's going to be like in a few years?

All verbal communication will be lost completely and replaced by "texting", emails and whatever other technology comes up (thought transference through some Microsoft or Apple gizmo?).
