andsome
Anyone had a problem with the latest version? I downloaded and installed it and declined an offer of a trial of the pro version. It updated OK, but then refused point blank to open again. I have NEVER had a problem with this software before. Am I alone?
Belatucadrus
I noticed some time ago that the updates on my working version had stopped, checked out the website found the new version downloaded it ran the installer and at that point it was dead as mutton, I didn't even get to the update stage. Now discarded. -pops-
I discarded it ages ago when it started playing silly buggers. Before it did that, I was very keen on the software but, anything, anything at all that plays me up is out as fast as I can click the mouse. There is always something as good, or better, waiting for my attention.

andsome
From the above it would seem that apart from Boris I am not alone. I will forget it for a while. I still use Malware Bytes.
andsome
Being an impatient type, I created a restore point and tried it again. This time it is running fine and has just completed a quick scan. It is version 5.6.0.1010.
Belatucadrus
I'm currently trying Kingsoft cloud as a second tier on my avast! system, it is an anti virus but the website says it can be used in conjunction with most AV software with no discernable penalty on performance. Thus far I've had no problems, it's a bit bare bones as a stand alone AV as there are no scheduling options but it chunters away in the background and I quite like it.Unlike Anvismart which I tested on the laptop, that slowed things to a crawl. adnmance
i used sas once, had thought of putting it back on last night -- but found spyware blaster in stead. it had a lot of entries for my browsers... i've never used it but i've used spybot in the past and i feel more secure with the whole immunization bit. might want to check out spyware blaster and spybot 2 is in the works too. and a big thanks to whoever HELPED remotely. they just don't tell me nothing these days... andsome
I have had more problems on line. Able to open web sites such as this but not able to navigate round them. I realised that there was no problem however with bank sites which are protected by Rapport. I uninstalled Rapport and the problem was resolved. They asked me to send logs to them, which proved to be difficult, however, I received the following e mail from Rapport this morning which is self explanatory.Hello Mr. Jones,The issue you have encountered is known to us and we suspect it was resolved in the latest version of Rapport. If you wish to download Rapport again, you can do so from the following link: http://www.trusteer.com/support/rapport-installation-linksFor now, the logs won't be necessary. If the issue reoccurs, please let us know.Sincerely,Yuval YogevTier 1 Support EngineerTrusteer Technical SupportSo now we know, no problems with SUPERANtiSPYWARE. It is running perfectly as is everything else with Rapport uninstalled.

johnoo
I use AVG free for anti virus, & run Malwarebytes/Spybot weekly, but has this software any advantages?
Belatucadrus
Malwarebytes/Spybot weekly,This is only my opinion but running two seperate anti malware scans every week seems a bit of overkill, unless you're into mass filesharing and downloading from the darker regions of Tinternet. But I suppose it's whatever suits you, they're both good packages and if it's what you feel safe with stick with it.
