Irene
Had no problems at all using Opera. Just noticed your a Mod Irene, congratulations. Thanks Alan, I'm not sure if it should be congratulations or commiserations! :D I have just tried to remove your first sentence, but it seemed to remove the quote! I think it's time to contact Craig again. I'll just go and put my Mod hat on. ;)
AlanHo
IE10 and Firefox were OK yesterday - but now in IE10 the return key does not start a new line and in both the header is greyed out - even when I use "more reply options". I am posting this with IE10 and not able to start a new paragraph, post a smilie, change the font, enter an image or a link. I don't envy Craig the task of getting this sorted. Perhaps it's time to move over to a new forum provider - this one seems to have lost the plot.
Irene
I hope Craig can sort it Alan. It does sometimes take time though...
AlanHo
I have just discovered something that solves the header greyed out problem. The extreme left icon in the top row of the header toggles BBCode mode. Click on it and the whole header appears. I will now get back in my box............... There is another on the extreme right which I hadn't noticed before your post. "Options"
Craig
Evening, I've upgraded the forum once again to the latest incremental release. The upgrade stated an issue was found with a certain SQL table, this has been dropped and recreated (may have been unrelated to our issues anyway). Now we have something that can successfully recreate the issue (cheers MANEMAN), I have logged a support request with Invision to start the ball rolling for problem resolution. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this shortly. Craig
MANEMAN
All part of life's rich tapestry. Our text editor problems pale into insignificance when compared with the stresses that poor Justin Bieber endured whilst on his recent tour of the U.K. - - It's all about "Perspective !" "Priorities". "Blue Sky Thinking." Getting your Ducks in a row. - And the fact that for all the moaning & threats, not one bugger has actually stopped posting ! This weeks Text Editor Blues Chill out Music comes from Jeff Abbot: Sit back relax. Be soothed. This is what we could have expected of Mahler had he not died. :) >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USxilL6-Dx8
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Its seems that the tag is no longer working; see http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=50576 - or did I overlook some syntax error on my part?

Very interesting find; now here when I am posting this, that little switch is there. However, it is not in other forums (e.g. the Essential Updates forum): The 'Options' option is also grayed out (as is everything else). AlanHo
I have just tried the Essential Updates forum and tested adding to a thread. In my case it seems OK - the header can be toggled on and off and the "More Reply Option" button works. For all forums - if in Options I tick "HTML on" the header is immediately greyed out and cannot be toggled. (Perhaps this is as it should be)
D4\/!d
I am having all sorts of problems with the forum today. I have been trying to add a post to a previous thread. I would paste the text into the reply box - but the form ran for ages without accepting the post. After nemeraous attemps I tried again and minimised the browser after hitting the post button and got on with other things for 30 minuted. When I returned the post has been made but it is in very small text.http://forums.window...topic=50429&hl=I have tried to edit the post to increase the text size but yet again even after leaving it for 30 minutes after hitting the post button the edited post wll not appear.EditI have just tried editing this post and it worked OK.....baaaahhhhSecond EditI have tried to edit the post mentioned above yet again - and it will not have it - yet I can edit this one...I'm bemused and confusedWhen I try to switch to the Full Editor in the Essential Updates forum I getwf2.png So a whole month has passed by and it is still not fixed. Irene
complexities to you too! I can edit too. I am posting from my iPad via Chrome. No formatting bar visible though.
Craig
I'll need to look into the formatting bar availability; this may be a permissions issue (user groups and forum specific options). I'll take a look early evening when I get home. The 403 error when posting came down to the use of the word "exit" or any word containing that phrase! Invision stated it was an odd issue and suggested it was something server related, within 15 minutes of logging a support call with the host and giving a brief explanation of the issue, they knew exactly what was causing it. Long story short, the site is now overriding a security setting behind the scenes to allow the forum to work.
MANEMAN
complexities. - Correct ! :) Now this weeks challenge is to find the next random word which will crash the text editor, and lead us a step closer to finally solve the on-going "Global" Game.A team in West Africa are fast catching up in the challenge cup using Swahili in contrast to the mathematical Fibonacci method that we have chosen to adopt. Craig
Evening all, I spent a little bit of time this afternoon checking the forums and member group permissions. I found a number of discrepancies some of which included the ability to post HTML content in a number of the forums. Many years ago when the categories, forums and sub-forums were setup, HTML exploits were a general concern, so the ability to post HTML content was only enabled where absolutely necessary. Now this is not so much of an issue, so the ability has been enabled on all categories, forums and sub-forums, and all members have been granted the ability to post using this content type. Hopefully the operation of the site should be getting back on track now :) Craig
