The button was designed by a committee both to delete duplicate entries and give the guilty party a painful electric shock. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your tendency to repeat yourself and your pain threshold, it was designed and installed by the same people that screwed up the NHS Patient record program. As a result all the lilac coloured button does when pressed is go green, flash twice and make a mildly amusing farting noise.On the plus side this amuses the panel of experts no end and they've spent days just pushing the button and giggling.
