I can not believe that " the majority of the American electorate" are responsible. Granted, they are a rum mixture, but my money shouts Bilderberg.

Can't agree The Bilderberg group wields considerable power behind the scenes but I don't think they'd pick a posturing misogynist loony as president. I think he appealed to the frightened prejudiced American Joe who genuinely wants to hide behind a wall big enough to keep the rest of the world out and live in a world of white picket fences and right thinkin gun totin white folks just like him. Definitely helped that Murdoch and News International hate Hillary with a passion.  Also that Hillary though competent is pretty fundamentally unlikable.

The problem that Trump now has is that many of his policy promises are impractical and impossible to deliver and there may yet be a backlash when he fails to deliver.

Doesn't much actually I voted UKIP in the EU elections and for Brexit, but I may have been one of the few people who did with an even half way realistic view of the potential consequences. Way too many numpties voted for it without clue one as to how things would work out or how long and painful it's likely to be.

I didn't vote for them in the general election as they're the ultimate one trick pony a disorganised rabble that couldn't decide on what a piss up in a brewery was never mind organising one.

Any chance we can take a leaf from the Trumpsters book of policies and get Nicola Sturgeon to renovate Hadrians wall at her own expense ?

Anybody want to put money against Madame LePenn winning the next French election ?

I think we are all agreed on his personality.

Now your being silly. He is totally devoid of personality. He is just a widemouthed chancer looking after his ego at the expense of  his counrymen.

There was a man who did a similar trick in Austria in the mid thirties.
