-pops- Posted February 2, 2004 Report Share Posted February 2, 2004 I just want to say to everyone that this Forum is the BEST in the Planet!!It is perhaps unfortunate but it is entirely because of posts of this nature (including a number of recent, similar, ones) that the quality of the Forum becomes questioned.Some members here seem to me to be determined to promote irrelevant comment/discontent. As far as I'm concerned, the function of the forum is not to be self deprecatory or even self congratulatory, it is supposed to be a forum devoted to Windows (you can guess this from the name) with an occasional off-the-topic aside. When internal political themes and inconsequential postings threaten to overtake this, as per recent events, there is something very wrong.I fully confess my guilt in prolonging these threads by replying to them but I am saddened by the whole situation and I am wondering if my presence on the forum is just a waste of my time. andsome Posted February 2, 2004 Report Share Posted February 2, 2004 I think that this forum creates a nice balance between serious posting, asking for and offering assistance, and also a lighter jokey side, this is where 'off the topic', and 'jokes' comes in. There is also a debates section, gaming etc. I don't want to see this change. Let's carry taking the assistance, debates, news side seriously, but at the same time loosen up in the other sections. We all only need to read or contribute to the topics that appeal to us.I agree again, that those who help us all make very valuable contributions. It's a great forum.
