wonder what the aussies think of this,

someone I know wants to emigrate to australia, problem they have a medical condition so the aussies say no,but

if he pays the aussie government £300,000 he can,and after 2 years he will get the money back unless he has medical attention of which the costs will be taken out of the £300,000, :D just found this a bit odd.

I think there's another way where you don't need a deposit, that is if you pay for your own medical treatment and don't expect any social benefits.

Personally, I think that is reasonable and could well be adopted here in the UK to reduce the "health tourism" which exploits the NHS and benefits scroungers that seem to pop in here knowing that they won't be left out on the streets to die like they may be elsewhere.

Yeah..I agree....Leave them to die on their own streets...Serves 'em right...Liggers :o

Maybe we should send hit squads to their towns, recognise the poor, malnourished and ill people who might come over here for help and execute them on the spot.

Blam Blam...stay out of Britain.

There are plenty of people who come over here to take advantage...there are also people who come here because they will die if they don't make it..

I agree in principle but if we ban one 'health tourist' and he/she dies that's one too many.

Who defines the 'health tourist', who makes the definitions?

simple solution: just as we have to have travel insurance to go abroard

they have to have it to come here. no insurance no travel. travel industry to pay

for any default.

As for people dying ,what about the thousands of people here that have paid all their lives for the right to treatment that die waiting for a bed.

another simple solution to the hospital crisis would be to disallow mps the right

to private medicine. let them queue like the rest of us.

I don't know about WHO defines a health tourist but WHAT defines a health tourist is:

A foreign national who comes over to the UK specifically to gain free elective treatment using the facilities of the NHS. This is becoming very common.

Fine if there is a medical emergency but even then it should be borne in mind throughout that in many overseas countries all medical treatment must be paid for by the patient and any reimbursement from insurance or the government must be claimed on return to this country.

It is a sad fact that this country cannot possibly supply a health service for the whole world, we just do NOT have the resources.

Yup. Ask my dad when he gets home from work... the A&E unit is having a hard time meeting these bloody government imposed targets and then you have these folks giving the already short staffed unit more work that they can manage.

I wonder if we train these blooming MPs and then release them into the hospitals and ask them to work towards the targets they set and threat each patient properly if they will understand why people are leaving the NHS.. especially with the money that they get paid?

:P

As Mr. Mouse pointed out many years ago all you had to do was steal a Loaf of Bread, to get instant assess to Australia, then just after WW2, you could emigrate for 10 Pounds.

Unfortuneately we had a Boom of Babies, who are now approaching Retirement, in fact there are more of them than people actually working, so the end results are very clear to the Government, the age of Retirement has been increased dramatically, and Senior Staff, employed by the Government Departments are encouraged to stay on, and share their Experience with the new comers!! hence a very real tightening up on entry requirements!!

Medical Examinations for certain age groups are manditory, even for a Tourist Visa!!

Medical Exaaminations are Compulsory for all Migration Applicants!!

Next they will be issuing us with Walkers!!!!

:censored: :D
