Craig
I am posting this topic to make you all aware that at some point next week, Windows Forum will be offline and unavailable to the internet for up to 48 hours (although it may only be 12 hours).Unlike other planned outages, I will be unable to provide a temporary site. This is because all Windows Forum related sites are to be consolidated in one location. In the long run this will mean Windows Forum will benefit from 99% uptime, and in the event of 1% downtime, an auxiliary website will be made available quickly. At the moment I am unable to commit to a start point for downtime, other than it is likely to being either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and we will be back up and running for the weekend madness on Saturday.Craig. Craig
Things are moving forward now.The new server will be online later on in the morning, so the process of transferring to the new server will begin within the next 24 hours, possibly 12 hours. As stated before, Windows Forum will be offline for the duration of the transfer.Craig. Craig
Right, everyone with the exception of members who have Blueyonder as an ISP (myself included), should be able to access Windows Forum via the standard www.windowsforum.org link. When you click on links for the time being, it will change from windowsforum.org to 205.209.148.102, this is so people using Blueyonder users can still use the site.I am told that Blueyonder is a pain in the ass for updating DNS details.Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow.Craig.
