had the op last night. did arrive in plenty of time on wed am at 7:50. because they were busy i ws parked in a side room so missed the doctors rounds. they thought i hadn't turned up so my morning cut slot was used on someone else. after i was found the created a slot for the afternoon but overan because of complications with an earlier case. so went on yesterdays aftrenoon list and was done. apparently it was bad, things were hanging by a thread, so i've been plated and casted. somewhat imbile - so good excuse for typo's. :D

if i do it again i will lose the elbow! i was only following physio's orders efore and after the knock which had sprung the wires out.

further sad news no.1 g'son is in sureryu now as i type nasty abcess on his bot which keeps recurring. chris (private smith) and kath are there now. think of the chaps not a good time at present.

thats a given andsome. asked the consultant if i was going to be on the same medicinal compounds as last time. he said probably. i said well tomorrow's xmas and a couple of the items last time said no alcohol. can we do a deal. he said he didn't do deals. the ward sister winked at me behind his back. we did a very nice deal in her office a bit later. :D :D

certainly. one of the 2 items from last time i'm not taking this time. the other is codeine phosphate which is a pain relief. may cause drowsiness, don't drive or operate machine etc. avoid alcohol. so won't be suffering any pain or using any carving knives/ovens/dishwashers etc tomorrow.

presently drawing up a spreadsheet for the drugs before/with/after meals, first thing in morning/last thing at night etc.

sorry left hand is an even worse speller than the right. and this mouse is funny + scroll forward and back buttons.

Hi Doug

Glad you are out of hospital and on the mend slowly, but now comes the lecture, please please please do as you are told when it comes to the physiotherapy, it will be hard and painful but it will all be worth it in the end.

9 years ago i broke my left leg very badly and really screwed up my ankle i had year of physiotherapy to try and get me walking again, and boy was she an absolute cow, strict is not the word i would use to describe her, far worse. there were plenty of times i felt like saying sod this it is too painful to do her silly exorcises, but i kept at it, and after 18 months i realised that my limp had totally gone. and i am playing sports and leading a normal life (for me anyway). I have so much respect for her and what she did for me, i will never forget her.

So please even though it will be hard do as they say.

lecture over.

Have a wonderful Xmas

Tony
