A bit of sour grapes here methinks.Fruit, grapes or otherwise does not enter into it. The fact is that Blair has lied, lied and lied again. The labour government as I have stated previously, have removed the tax free status of pension funds, thereby discouraging millions from saving for their retirement, and then they have the gall to complain about the lack of interest in pension funds. Brown removed Peps, and replaced them with far less valuable Isa's. They have presided over vast increases in the civil service without any improvement in services. They have pumped more and more billions into the NHS, and wasted it all on targets, and more tiers of management, while MRSA has become a rampant disease in our filthy hospitals. There are now more police than ever before, according to governments figures, but far less of them are on the streets. A policeman can be tied up for several hours with paper work, just because he has stopped someone for questioning. They have been a total disaster, and people cannot for some reason see it. I don't suppose for one moment that Howard is the answer to the maidens prayer, but I doubt whether he could make a bigger mess of things. What other alternatives are there realistically? Lib Dem's??? OK if you want 100 % of the legislation that affects our lives to come from Brussels, instead of the current 83%. For pity's sake look beyond the end of your noses, and see what is happening. Postal voting fraud is just another item that has embroiled the labour party, and they were prepared to do absolutely NOTHING about it until after the election, because it suited them to leave things as they were. It seems to me some folks don't care for this process though because their guy did not win. Legal challenges? Hanging chads? Butterfly ballot. Oh my.How oh so familiar for those of us in the States. Let it go people. The election was held. Blair was re-elected by a significant number. Accept it and move on. It is the best thing for everyone.Been there, done that, got the tee shirt.I hope you don't see this commentary as rude or a personal attack on anyone. That is not my intention. I am just offering my observation in hopes that your election does not divide your country the way our past elections did. Several local councillors have been suspended in Birmingham. and it is also a sad fact that some fraud has been discovered on the general election postal ballot, hence the legal challenges. surely you cannot condone what the Republicans did a few years ago when they fiddled the Florida elections. Every legal and illegal move was used to get GWB elected. We do not want such widespread fraud to happen over here. The fiddling that has taken place would certainly not have influenced the final result, of that I have no doubt, but by the same token it is entirely wrong and needs to be stamped out. At the afore mentioned local elections in Birmingham the fiddling did make a significant difference to the outcome. By the way I DO care for the process, but it must be seen to be fair. I for one am not a sore looser, I just happen to think as do many millions of others, that Blair has consistently lied throughout his premiership. Bias? :D Hanging chads.....folks who in previous years had no problem reading a ballot all of a sudden had a problem. :blink: Recount, after recount, after recount, after recount, after recount showed Bush won. Recounts by other independant sources 2 years after that election showed Bush won Florida and thus the election.That period of time tore the country apart. Learn from our mistake and let it go.
