When i go to clcik a favorite (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/) from firefox i get this even if i try to type the url in, plus if you look some things r not showing up on the homepage, like the top banner (its not an add,and it showed up earlier)

now ive just noticed my sig is not showing up in Firefox....ooo imgetting annoyed now

rebel, no probs here seeing your sig in FF, check in tools , options, web features, load images , take the tick out of 'for originating website only'

the tick is already out and the banner is still not showin and ive trurned the pop up blocker off. oh and my sig is still not showing it says "user posted image"

now ive justnoticed i cant see the pics on the photo comp page

It indeed is for those who use it. Just because you had a problem installing it does not mean it is not good.

I would never go back to IE as my primary browser. :D

Rebel, clear cache + temp, and you didn't answer scuzzman's question - if you have Adblock, a */banners/* filter might be blocking legit images like the one's you're missing.

PC's can be very finicky as since I tried out Firefox a couple of weeks ago, I have had no problem with it.

I prefer it to IE now and it is my default browser.

I think that the older members of the forum know me well enough to expect me to have a little knock at Firefox after my recent run in with it. After all there are plenty of posts saying in no uncertain words, to get rid of IE and use forefox. Please don't take me too seriously.

I have been watching the various views expressed as to the efficacy, or otherwise, of Firefox, and I am still puzzled by it all. I have tried it and am running it alongside IE6. However I find it slow compared to IE6, it seems to take longer to go and retreive things. That having been said I can not really say that I have noticed a great deal of difference, other than the inner feeling of better security, gathered mainly from reading the "wisdom" expressed on NP.

Firefox is faster for me. I do, however, keep IE as a secondary browser.

However, I do sometimes get popups (not true popups but advertisements opening in behind the main screen) on Firefox. I thought that the program had a popup blocker. :blink:

Firefox is faster for me as well, especially in my case as IE is part of the AOL software so it really is bloatware!

I too like IE6, never had a problem with any version of IE and its still my default browser. I'm also using Firefox, using it at the moment and I don't find it any faster than IE but I do like the tabbed windows and the ability to enlarge text in forums such as this one. IE does allow you to enlarge the text but not in forums for some reason.

Seeing that I use a 17" TFT at 1280x1024 the larger text from Firefox is a great help, I hope this and tabbing will be in version 7 of IE. :)

The IE6 version that came with XP-SP2 actually does a very good job with pop-up blocking. Firefox still occasionally slips a pop-under, but rarely.

I used FF for quite some time along side my BT Yahoo browser, and found it to be very good. The main reason was the tabbed browsing.

Now that BTYahoo have added tabs, combined with Launchcast, it is my first choice browser. I also take with a pinch of salt, the better security claimed by FF. There will be some shocks when the hackers really get into it!

Adblock allows you to get rid of banners on pages, whether they be flash, GIF, whatever. You can also block the IFRAME to tidy up sites.

As some will know, I've been a FF enthusiast for a long time.

Yesterday I was told there was an update for the Google Toolbar (unofficial, not connected wirth Google). I already had the earlier version of this so, I opted for the download.

I find now that FF is reluctant to show any pictures. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. There is no consistency.

Irritating, slightly (an understatement).

I just updated the Googlebar for FF to the latest version (0.9.9.06), but I don't have any difficulties. Could you perhaps give a sample URL where you can't load any graphics? (If it still persists today).
