Earlier I was listening to two fractious grand-daughters arguing like mad - same reasons as the fans in my computer - the heat. Earlier than that, like catgate, listening to the birds in my garden enjoying the treat of a new birdbath I've installed. I always get a lot of birds in the garden but this afternoon there have been more than ever before because of my new cooler for them. You all know that my preference is for Mahler. I am also a fan of most classical music, opera, modern jazz, traditional jazz, swing, and I also appreciate a decent tune from some of the old favourites, like Sinatra , Shirley Bassey etc. I just cannot tolerate what passes as music today. Loud banging and twanging of guitars, by scruffy looking gits who do not know how to get a tune out of the instrument. How on earth people can stand the awful banging noise that they have on in the car is beyond understanding. I frequently hear drumming noises when I am at the bottom of the garden when a car passes by in the road outside. What the hell do these idiots think they are doing to their hearing in the long term? It could have exactly the opposite effect to what you want because the airflow may be directed away from where it's required.If you feel you have to remove the side, ensure you have a BIG external fan blowing toward the case. Almost every time a group appears on TV they merely strum and do a couple or three chords with the other hand. Why also do people have loud thumping on in their cars? joysness Posted June 20, 2005 Report Share Posted June 20, 2005 I find it interesting how each generation thinks the next generations music isn't any good.I know my parents thought the music I listened to was very odd but they did enjoy some of it.My dad was a musician (country & western along with a lot of english, irish and scottish tunes. He also wrote his own) and my mum had a beautiful singing voice so I grew up with an appreciation for all kinds of music.However, I never acquired a taste for a lot of todays music. Kind of lost touch with the music scene in the mid 80's.A lot of the groups listed here, I've never even heard of.Guess some things never change. :D And andsome, The kids today have the bass turned all the way up with very little treble and that's why all you hear is the thumping. I actually used to play my music that way but not so loud.
