Gandalph
I enjoyed The Who, Pink Floyd and quite a few others. It must have been an enormous task for Sir Bob to put together, so I suppose it's hats off to him for the effort.

Great event... Na Na Na nananana nananana Hey Jude B) As to wether it will have any effect on world politics, I remain skeptical but you can't say he didn't try ;) <<<<By the way Gandalph... you've still got your hat on :D
sapins
What a waste of time this has been. Except for massaging the ego's of the aging stars who took part nothing worthwhile will be achieved. Writing off debts will not feed people. The first effort failed to solve the problem and this will do likewise. It will all be forgotten by the politicians just after the public has forgotten it and that will be quite quickly. We all know that politicians will say ANYTHING to get votes/approval and we get the politicians we deserve. catgate
Interestingly I have just seen a piece on TV which claimed that there was enough money already in Africa (tied up in the bank accounts of bent politicians) to pay off all of Africa's debts. five times over. This raises just one or two very pertinant questions...dun it? Look at what happened a few years back when the Ethiopian appeal was going on to raise money to get aid out to those people. The Government of Ethiopia at that time ordered 30 tonnes of Whisky from Scotland. I wonder who that was for.
andsome
The whole political system, including the so called United Nations is a complete waste of space and time. Corruption, corruption, corruption. You have yet another typical case with GWB at the moment. He is making so many millions out of oil, that he denies the existence of the greenhouse effect on global warming. He knows that he will have been dead and buried before the world finally fouls up altogether, meantime he is enjoying his wealth.
