andsome Posted August 2, 2005 Report Share Posted August 2, 2005 I have mentioned before that 'Er indoors belongs to a small group who meet on a Friday evening and paint. The local library asked if they were interested in submitting a few paintings by the members for a small exhibition of local craft. After a great deal of arm twisting she was persuaded to submit four paintings of flowers. She has very little confidence in her abilities, and is very self critical. Imagine her surprise at receiving a telephone call with a request to buy all four. She offered them free of charge, but the person concerned would not accept this and insisted on paying a going rate for amateur work locally. She is now like a dog with two tails to wag. For the benefit of all foreigners on the forum, there was a few years ago a comedy series on British TV called 'The Minder'. The main star was George Cole, he played an extremely shady character who was a wheeler dealer in various goods which had fallen off the back of a lorry so to speak. Dennis Waterman was his minder.
