-pops-
I went to my local superstore this morning, just to do the normal "chore" shopping. There was a long queue of cars waiting for spaces in the car park. I came home without even stopping, never mind shopping. I'll go out again about 10 or 11 pm and see if it's any easier then. Thos
STOCK UP everyone. Dash out and buy, buy, buy. There will be no sprouts left. When you get to the supermarket car park get your wife (or partner) to get out, go round on foot until she ( or he) sees someone leaving a space, then she ( or he) should lie in the space until you arrive.Do not delay. Remember the shops will be shut until Tuesday or it will be McDonalds or Pizza Hut for you ( not to mention Kentucky Fried Chicken)Thos.

Now we always have those with little crosses on the bottom. I searched high and low and couldn't find any with those crosses. I guess we are just too late.Thos.
dadyassa
If you put crosses on them you get soggy sprouts when cooked, my mate Ramsey told me last night :harhar:

About 40 minutes boiling should get them at their traditional best (tell your friend Ramsey----he will probably tell you to f-off)Thos. :harhar:

-pops-
Talking of sprouts, my local Tesco is selling picked, loose sprouts at £0.98/Kg that's about 100 of the little blighters. They are also selling sprouts "on the stalk" i.e. a plant pulled up from the ground, decapitated and sold otherwise entire. I counted the sprouts on one of them - 27. The cost? £2.99.Rounding up/down the arithmetic, loose the sprouts are about one penny each. On the stem, ten pence each AND you have to pick them off yourself. Worst of all, they can sell the top of the plant separately as Brussels tops or "Spring Cabbage".
