A lot of civilian lives were lost! much more than 9/11.And of coarse you can add the Zeppelin raids of 14-189-11 was the first time the Continental United States was seriously bombed a lot of other countries suffered the same fate in earlier years AS for the supposed Churchill/Hitler comment :(

I never said otherwise. As a result you were also outraged and responded with military weapons to kill those responsible. The US did the same after 9-11. This was after being attacked several times prior to that.If you are saying that the US was not justified in starting to dismantle the terrorist organizations responsible for these attacks then you are mistaken. Your government agreed with us.If you are saying that Iraq was not involved in terrorists attacks on the US you are again mistaken. Your government agreed with us.Iran is next. Perhaps Syria is in line also.If you want to see Armageddon (and it could soon heading to that) then keep sitting on your hands and appease those whose only purpose is it kill you, your family.........and mine. That was predicted thousands of years ago. We are seeing it unfold now.AS for the supposed Churchill/Hitler comment :(It was a joke....a funny...........a bellybuster. :P It makes about as much sense as the Bush 9-11 conspiracy theory. :D
andsome
Are we having a competition now to see who got hit worst? As for Iran and Syria, I just hope that Dubya does NOT take us all down the path to Armageddon..
rong
As for Bush doing the conspiring then no, but for one of the other security organisations doing so, look at their history. As for Churchill/Hitler, it did us a lot of good having the Germans bomb London instead of the air fields, so who knows. It sure did do us a lot of good having all those thousands killed. I only hope that their descendants are not looking at this forum, and seeing this suggestion. Belatucadrus
I think andsome that you've misunderstood rong, at least I profoundly hope so. The point being that if the Luftwaffe had persisted with its attacks on RAF airfields, they could well have won. The decision to switch their campaign at that point, to indiscriminate bombing of the capital was a piece of tactical stupidity that gave the RAF time to regroup. The price was horrendous, in London, Coventry and later in Dresden and Berlin. But as far as the RAF was concerned at the time it was a gift. Nobody has yet suggested that there was any collusion between Hitler and Churchill, where it has been mentioned it has more been as an illustration to the ridiculous and distasteful nature of most of these so called theories.I still think that anybody who gives any credence to these lame brained plot theories has been watching too many bad spy movies. The spy industry is not the world of James Bond and Matt Damons Bourne, it's a world of George Bush Senior, Kim Philby and Oliver North. To credit them with the ability to come up with some "master plan" for global domination.

I appreciate your point, but I cannot understand what was meant by, "it did us a lot of good having the Germans bomb London." Hitler was well known for his terrible tactics, and his decision was a bad mistake from the German viewpoint. However to say it did a lot of good is extremely insensitive to those who lost loved ones.
Belatucadrus
Poor choice of words perhaps, but not loosing air superiority and as a result not having to deal with operation sea lion may perhaps be seen as "good". I suspect that not having the SS operating in the home counties could generally be regarded as a pro point. In a no win situation, perhaps we lost less than we could have.In war nobody really has a lot of good done them, unfortunately mankind hasn't yet grasped what would appear to be fairly obvious and from Serbia to Iraq, killing each other over political or obscure religious doctrinal differences still seems a popular way of passing the days. rong
The good comes from the fact that if it hadn't happened we would now be part of Germany, so not an extremely poor choice of words, as you put it.
