I know this sounds odd but my uncle proved it.He got a fairly big spider and trained it, over a course of several months, to obey his commands. He did this in the usual way, by rewarding it when it did what he wanted and just ignored it if it did not do as he said.He could tell it to GO FORWARDS, REVERSE, GO LEFT, GO RIGHT etc.Once he had got it fully trained he pulled off all its legs and then found that it could not hear him!!!. They are harmless but hard to trap with our favourite method of putting a tumbler over them and carting them out to throw over the fence into next door.Incidentally, we keep a special spider tumbler for the purpose.
