dagwoood
Anyway basically, Tuesday showers, Wednesday showers, Thursday rain, Friday showers. so you are welcome to the blistering heat. :lol:Here in the Midlands we've got high temperatures, but when it's rained it's still stayed warm I can't recall ever experiencing that; I associate rain with cooler temperatures and it's really weird :(

Watchful
26deg.C here for us today in Lancs. and, as with Dagwood, after bad storms on Sunday lasting almost 3 hours with torrential rain, it didn't go any cooler
andsome
This has been on the cards for years, and damn all has been done about it. I am just glad that I have had seventy years up until now, I wouldn't want to be as young as my grandchildren. It can only get worse. andsome
What a bunch of pansies. A few hot days and you blame global warming. There is plenty of evidence of global warming, even though Dubya is prepared to do nothing about America's contribution. Put Global Warming in Google. deuces wild
What a bunch of pansies. A few hot days and you blame global warming. There is plenty of evidence of global warming, . I never said otherwise andsome. Whether it is a man made problem is what is at question. B) Its all those people with yachts causing it...   :P I bet it is from the excessive amount of methane released by cows when they farted over the last few decades. Funny how a problem that is most likely cyclical (like global cooling) is being blamed on Bush by some. B) edit spelling
Watchful
Not to mention horses! I also think it could be cyclical
andsome
I for one would NOT blame Dubya as the sole cause of global warming. I appreciate that there have been cycles in the past. However, technology is such that measurements are now possible over many years, when checked with ice core samples, growth rings on trees etc. It has been shown that since carbon output started to increase dramatically during the industrial revolution, so has the greenhouse effect. In view of this we are now making a major contribution to accelerating the process. Dubya and other politicians are not interested in doing anything about this problem, because it would affect the growth rate of their countries, and incidentally their own pockets. The fact that at the continued rate of increase in carbon output there may not be a planet worth bothering about does not concern these people in the short term, because they will not be around in the long term. Many low lying areas of the world will very soon disappear under the rising seas. Germany have just published their intention of reducing their carbon output by 0.6% by 2010. This is abysmal, alongside many other countries attempts, including to a slightly lesser extent the UK. A pox on the lot of them.
