andsome
Paris is agog with excitement. The news has got out that we will be arriving some time tomorrow. Mitterrand phoned and said that he wishes he could come and greet us, but is busy at the G8 meeting. I told him not to worry, as we would be too busy to bother with him. I will have time to pop in again this afternoon, but will be leaving home at 6 AM tomorrow morning. Look after yourselves while I'm away, and don't anyone break the forum. :D :D :D

rong
I thought you didn't have anything to do with the French, how are you going to ask for chillian wine with your meal. I think they may take the guillotine out of mothballs tomorrow.
-pops-
When I worked in the South of France, the most popular wines among the locals there were ones brought in from Spain, particularly Rioja for which, apparently the French don't have an equivalent, at least not in the Alpes Maritimes.I can't comment on how accurate that is as I don't partake. On this occasion I agreed to take 'Er Indoors to see Monet's garden. It has always been something that she particularly wanted to do. She hasn't been a bad old dear all these years, and is suffering very badly now with her arthritis, so it's the least I can do. I may have to go there again, as she has always wanted to go to Brittany.

"Two French regiments accidentally attacking each other during the Battle of Fleurus led to the habit of attaching a white scarf to the flags of the regiments from 1690 - white being the colour of the kings of France."Saves them from fracticide ;) ;) Have a good time andsome, just drink Rioja like pops said ;)

doug
If you come down our way, between Marsailles and Toulon - we will be arriving next wednesday - do pop in for a baguette or two. Enjoy the sun while you're over there.

andsome
That's it for me now. See you all soon. If I can get Rioja I will certainly drink that. We are staying at the Hilton at Orly, so I would expect a decent choice there.

andsome
Got back a couple of hours ago. We had a great time except that it was even hotter there than it is here. Unfortunately the traffic has got a lot worse than when we were last there.
