The fundamental philosophy of capitalism is to make money - as much as possible.

NO institution involved in this moneymaking process will EVER make any threat to close accounts unless, of course, you have already sold your soul to the Devil and there is no way that they could possibly recover their money .

There is an old saying - something to do with killing geese that lay golden eggs.

My feeling is that anyone taken in by these scams shouldn't be in charge of their own affairs.

I have never used Paypal, and have no intention of doing so.

There's still a good chance that you'll get one in the same way that I received a missive from the Bank of Nova Scotia (who?) this morning warning me that my account had been compromised. I was instructed to link to another site to re-input all of my banking details. That was only one of dozens of these that I get each week. Almost all are stopped by the spam trap but this one escaped somehow.

I get lots of these phishing emails - mostly collected by the BT spam trap. If I forwarded the all, I would be spending an unacceptable amount of my day sorting through them.

Jus checked and there were: seven Bank of Scotland, four Alliance & Leicester, three Nova Scotia, numerous Barclays, similarly HSBC and various assorted - 47 caught over five days.
