I received an email a short while ago from a friend. I thought that the content was worth sharing with the Forum....

ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS PLEASE READ Warning!!!!

Be aware of new car-jacking scheme.

You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you

Lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into reverse.

You look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.

So, you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper or whatever it is

that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car

that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!!

Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car and

they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN GLASGOW AND

MANCHESTER AND IS MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

Just drive away and remove the paper later! It is stuck to your window

and be thankful that you read this post!! A purse contains all

identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your

home address. They already HAVE your keys!!!

JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE IT MAY ARRIVE IN YOUR AREA! :shok:

I just hope that your American website link aplies to the UK.

Forewarned is forearmed! Women in particular are very vulnerable during the dark nights of winter. So I personally would take any warning seriously, however old it may be. It certainly seemed very plausible to me.

park outside a park in London and your car will get jacked by the local council anyway , they will relieve you of the contents of your wallet if you want it back .........!

 I love humour like this.

I certainly do not like unconstructive website links and flip comments.

This thing has been floating around the web now for at least two years that I know of. I'm not saying that it wont happen but I've never heard of anything on television or read anything in the media that would indicate that it has ever happened in Britain. I stand to be corrected on this of course.

The new plot...........you leave your computer to get a cup of coffee. You come back and there is a note attached to your monitor telling you to check your car as it is being stolen. You go to the garage, find your car there and return to your computer only to find it stolen.

Always keep your coffee cup in the DVD tray and get her indoors to keep it topped up ;)

Has anyone thought that whether or not this kind of theft is actually happening, the potential is always there. Forewarned is forearmed. :D

Common sense from andsome!

Perhaps the wide publicity given by posters like Irene has stopped this crime from developing into a scourge.

Thos.
