Is this whole global warming thing bulls***?

I don't have that amount of time to spend watching. However, almost all scientific minds have concluded that a major cause of global warming is CO2. There may well be other causes in addition, but without precise scientific knowledge, to deny what are almost unanimous findings seems rather silly. There are always one or two who fly in the face of fact. There are still flat earthists even today. Temperatures on earth have gone through cycles from the day the earth was formed, and will continue to do so. I have no doubt personally however, that mankind has a big influence on this situation, and that presently we are accelerating the process at an alarming rate. I have no doubt that the sun also plays a big part due to flare ups, and these seem to happening at present, but why accelerate a problem with mankind's actions?

Nope! Completely wrong!

Watch the vid! C'mon, just an hour and a bit of your time, and your thoughts will change!

Please watch it!

I really don't have the time. I am surprised that you can feel so positive on the strength of one film, when there is so much evidence of the influence of CO2. As I said, there are people who still believe that the earth is flat. There are still people who deny that man has flown to the moon, despite the fact that the trips were tracked by several tracking stations here on earth. There are still people who believe that smoking can not cause lung disease, and that second hand smoke is harmless. Look at MORE THAN ONE film. Look at all the published evidence, then and only then, compare all the findings, and so called findings and make your mind up.

I have watched a programme on British television recently stating that man has no influence on global warming, so I can claim to have listened to this argument, and I still go along with the vast majority of scientists. My thoughts did not change. It may even be the same film.

And who is berrying their head in the sand, the people taken in by the spin, or the ones that can see that the most of the global warming is natural. The scientists lost all credibility when 20 odd years ago they said we were heading for an ice age when we had a couple of really cold winters. this opinion has not come about because of this (I haven't looked at it) or any other resent programs, I have always thought it although I was taken in by the ice age one as it was very cold.

Well the ostrich did not want to know, and if he buried his head in the sand he could avoid finding out. He could just continue whistling. Had he been a Roman he would have been content with just the bread and circuses.

I am pretty certain that the video in question is the one that I watched on channel 4. Remember that it is a view held by a tiny number of scientists. There will always be differences of opinion on scientific subjects, but for laymen to state that one side or the other is bulls*** smacks of extreme arrogance and lack of understanding of science in general. Jason, remember that the vast majority of people who have expressed opinions in another thread, remember how you came out with what to the vast majority was utter bulls***. You claimed to believe that the world was only 4000 years old, and that dinosaurs had never existed, although quite where all the skeletons and bones came from if they are not real remains a puzzle. Maybe they were made of plastic by the same wicked scientists who are worried about what is happening to our planet. Maybe the whole frozen carcases of Woolly mammoths discovered in Siberia were also made by wicked scientists. I think in all honesty that for any of us on this forum to call any scientific beliefs bulls*** is ridiculous.

You know , You REALLY NEED to lay off of this crap now....!

remember how you came out with what to the vast majority was utter bulls***

Vast majority of what...? of who'm..? people who believe in "A God" or the one's who don't..? What are you doing here..?

You claimed to believe that the world was only 4000 years old, and that dinosaurs had never existed, although quite where all the skeletons and bones came from if they are not real remains a puzzle.

Well for one thing , If you are trying to insult me you could at least "attempt" to use what you ( maybe ) have between your ears and remember that i said over 6000 years NOT 4000...

Then maybe what you said up there might carry a little more weight...

Maybe they were made of plastic by the same wicked scientists

Plastic..? PLASTIC..?

Are you freakin' serious now...??!! :censored:

You really need to get a life...!!

I just want to go on record here that " I " - Did Not start this arguement ( yet again )and it is in fact andsome pushing pointless issues ...

Just watched most of it while waiting for something to finish and it was pretty believable. Their basically just saying politics has screwed everyones views on the true environmental issues and that carbon is probably not causing the warming. They gave their proof and answered many good questions. Like what then is causing the warming? The simple answer is the sun and the solar atmosphere. There was a lot more then just that but thats the basics of it.

I prefer to believe that it is a combination of several things, and that our actions are not helping matters. I still don't think that anyone on here is in a position to call any scientists views bulls***. How many on here have a science degree, and what are their views?

So dose that mean that when say the chancellor says you should have a smaller pension then he is right as he is the one with the title. What a relief no more anti government posts as that would be a bit hypocritical.

Yeah even in that video scientists are calling other scientists bullshitters. Well in a round about way. Even going as far as death threats. Anticarbon products and technologies is a huge money maker in the billions not to mention the jobs its created. The video in my opinion was only trying to disprove carbon theories. They didn't go into other forms of pollution. I liked how firefox correct "bullshitters" for me. I guess they added correction for just about every swear work in the book.

I wonder where the lunar supply of Helium 3 comes into this business?

Not much of it about evidently

Well there are quite a lot of Russians who think differently, and are privately financing rocket ships to bring it back. But why, when Russia has so much oil and gas?? And we are worrying about the effect of burning it.

How many on here have a science degree, and what are their views?
Well there are three of us, to my knowledge, who have done so already on this subject.

"The scientists" were already concerned about the CO2 more than 20 years ago; they just didn't come to the right conclusion what will happen. It is much clearer now today, and things are already happening - the polar ice is melting, and the oceans are rising. The Americans think it's all a hoax, but what will they say once New York (and dozens of other coastal cities) are under water?

I live in a coastal city, but I have 20 years ago decided that I will only live on top of the highest hill in the city. It's pretty safe up here...
