I HATE POLITICS!!!!! :censored:

Well avoid them then. Lots of people do. That's why we are in such a mess.

edit :=

I once knew a man who said he was not afraid of hard work. He said he could lie down and go to sleep at the side of it...and you can't do that with something you are afraid of.

I can understand your point of view, Irene, but I am against politics. Politics is what has caused all the world's troubles. What I am in favour of is good government. The unfortunate fact is that good government and politics are diametrically opposed, but due to the way we have grown up we are blinded to this, and so politicians can continue to "pretend" that the words politics and government are synonymous.

Well all I can say catgate, is that for one who claims to be against politics, you do a lot of talking about them.

I write against politics, I will agree, but that by no means makes me a political animal. There are many doctors who write against/about disease but that does not make them supporters of disease, does it? They are committed to curing disease.

I was, of course, using the term as applied to pheasant and other game :rolleyes:

That having been said I believe many of them are game, in more than one sense alone. It is said of well hung game that when they are "ready" their heads will drop off. Now there's a thought. :drinks:

As usual, catgate, your posts are deeply meaningful.

I once hung a brace of pheasants in our garage.

When the appropriate time arrived, I did the necessary. YUK...

However, the meat was very acceptable once, I had dispensed with all of the unpleasant bits.... including the heads.

I know I am a bit of a Phillistine but I like my pheasant fresh. I don't bother plucking or gutting them. I just skin the front of the birds and then cut off the breasts and discard the rest. Unfortunately a neighbour who was mad keen on shooting died last year, and we have been denied the pleasure this winter.

Mine were by way of a gift from the owner of the Company where I worked.

It was the first and will certainly be the last time I perform that process, I always like to at least try things just once.

If ever the occassion arises again, I'll do exactly as you do. :D

I am not very happy with the politicians who run the country, but I am too idle to offer my help. It's useless saying that you are against government. If we don't elect a government, who will run things? Referendums are not on for every little decision that has to be made. Who will organise them, who will adjudicate over the results? Who is going to run the services, organise road building, education, health etc etc? Things are not all that we would like, but unless someone runs things, what do we do, descend into complete anarchy? Panarcy, if you are completely against government and taxes as you declare, why don't you run a nationwide campaign and drum up support for you to run everything? Where are you going to get the money to do all this without taxes, and how are you going to run things without an infrastructure? As I have said many times before, I hate our present government, and think that too much of our tax is wasted by them, but unless I am prepared to take over, then I must just put up with it, and so must you. You could of course emigrate to a country run by religious zealots, and see if that suits you better than an elected government.
