The Midlands airports did not have direct flights and the waiting time between flights was not acceptable.So, where is the best place to park for a Gatwick departure, in terms of quality and value? Several offer a free ride to the airport and free parking for the duration, then a free trip back to the airport. The shuttle bus took only 5 minutes and ran every 15 minutes if I remember correctly. They are usually some miles away but they have frequent coaching to the departure terminal. Like Alanho, if we haven't a lift, I use the on site airport parks, not too expensive over a couple of weeks and circulating coaches get you to your terminal in 10 minutes or so.Thos. One of the other daughters will collect us when we get back. We're 30 miles from Gatwick and can get there in 45 mins :)The big question is how do you cope with the 20kilo baggage allowance. For some reason my case always weighs 26-28 kilos, well I suppose my shorts and T-shirts are a bit bigger than most peoples sizes :) But when I pack what can I leave out...
