Craig
I live in Gloucestershire, luckily for me, my house won't be affected by the flooding. However, I have no water, and the prospect of no electricity, both for several days. This is certainly going to be interesting! Here is the local news on the BBC.As a note for all, Windows Forum is hosted at Gloucester Docks, it will be flooding. I'm sure the host has spent £millions on making sure flooding wont affect service, but if it does, then thats it for a short while. Also, if electricity gets turned off, the backup site will not be available.Craig

Boris
They shouldn't flood where they are !+ their generators are supposed to keep them live for 30 days if there is a power outage.
-pops-
Following the 1987 hurricane I was without power for 12 days and water free for (I think) nine. After a fairly short time you get used to it, if a bit smelly. When the water returned, it was a strong purple colour and completely unusable for about a week.Glad I live on a hill. If I were to be flooded, a town of about 25,000 people would be totally under water as well

That very same year areas on the east coast of Canada had nearly 20FT (may be exaggerating, but it covered some homes up to 2nd floor windows) and they just took the day off work.
familydude2
Hi Craig,I live in Gloucestershire too and with the panic and fighting for fresh water you may be interested in norinse.co.uk who are based in Dursley, they are selling waterless shampoos and soaps

Craig
Tonight at 20:55, splat splat, water back on.That means I now have no excuse not to clean the house before parents get home on Thursday from their three week holiday Still, I am amazed at how little water I have survived on over the past 8 days and 4 hours. I liked my baths, but now I see how much water it uses, maybe showers are the way forward.
Boris
Just remember not to use it for washing anything up ! - only for your personal hygiene :)Did you get your "Do's + Don'ts" leaflet ? - we did, but our water hasn't actually been off at all - so it doesn't affect us ? doug
Now the Greeks and Romans used to rub Olive oil on themselves then scrape it off. I think they all had very good suntans. You could try that and pretend you've been abroad in the sun during recent times, or even just fry in our baking hot summer!
