We will be attending the graduation ceremonies with her, her boyfriend and her boyfriends parents, after which we will have a celebratory dinner together. I realise that I am now full of fizzy after our lovely celebration, but believe me, there is no independent child; no matter how old they are ( and I do not mean financially). It was a great day, but long...........12 hours. The graduation ceremony lasted 3 hours. I was great to watch the kids celebrate with their hands in the air after they received their diploma and were congratulated by the University President.Those graduating with doctorate (about 120) were the only ones whose names were called. I would guess 20% were from China and another 10% from India.We met our daughters boyfriends parents (they sat with us during the graduation) and we all went out to eat after the ceremony. His parents are very nice folks.We got a chance to talk with our son today after dinner tonight. We have not talked to him since 11/20. He graduates combat training this coming Tuesday and then heads directly to his specicalty training. He is going to operate construction equipment for the Marines.
