Gandalph
I'm always reluctant to take out extended warranties. If fact I've never taken one out yet and , touch wood, I have never needed them.

-pops-
Get it on your home contents insurance. When I got my computer/office equipment on home contents insurance it made no difference to the premiums at all.
AlanHo
My home contents cover includes loss, theft, accidental damage, being eaten by lions etc both in the house and whilst away - but not breakdown or wear and tear.If you really feel there is a risk of an expensive breakdown you cannot repair yourself - then insurance is worth considering. However - there are alternative insurers you could consider rather than the "shop".For example
andsome
It has to be a matter for personal choice. Sods law will probably prevail. If you take out the insurance, you will NEVER need it, if you don't, the laptop will break down next week.. :D
