Alan2273
To make a restore point yourself, click the W7 logo (what used to be the start button in XP), right click My Computer, left click properties, left click System Protection, left click Create. andsome
Very many thanks folks. I wonder why they made it more complicated in W 7. :D
Sbrideau
They initially made it like that in Vista, I guess not many people complained it was too complicated.
Chris
Now installed and running. It found my printer hardware and installed it. There were initial problems with the scanner but that is now fine. Not tried any more installs yet. It takes a bit of getting used to after XP.Hell just froze Heaven. D4\/!d
Welcome to the 7 club andsome. and Welcome from me too.I for one never thought you of all people would do it I am delighted that you have taken the plunge.Yeah you will have to get used to it, but for someone with your skills you will soon adapt B) One tip I found useful is to make full use of the Search facility. You know the one. Click the old Start button, and in the Search box type what you are looking for.No more up and down menus. I luv it.
CurlyWhirly
p.s. I haven't installed Windows 7 yet but I intend doing so at the weekend (when i've got more time) - I want a dual boot setup as I want to keep my existing Vista installation.I couldn't do what I wanted to do as I couldn't get Norton Ghost to copy my existing Vista installation (on a 1 TB drive) to my spare 120 GB hard drive despite the 'image' size being only around 100 GB with compression.I tried the Vista upgrade but am experiencing problems which I never had with Vista :0 I'll have to go for the clean installation I think.
