Can I beg holiday and sick leave?

We went to Gran Canaria for a break for me - been working like stink on No.1 Daughter's loft, more later. While in Gran Canaria had a disaster and Anne finished up in hospital receiving 8 staples ijn her head, courtesy of a bus driver again more later. We got back on Tues 25th at 5 am. so much for a rest. Got my new band saw, set it up and did some more work on Katherin's loft on Monday this week. Went to a very close friend's cremation on the Tues went home. Started to pack the car with a load of chipboard scraps to take to the Tip and realised I'd left the battery for Anne's mobility scooter at the Crem. Panic 'phone calls as I had only just installed 2 new cells, at £80 having trashed the others on holiday.. 'Phone call from the Crem to say it had been found in the road outside the Crem. Got it and was feeling a bit wound up.

Wnet to bed and had to get up at 5am for the Loo, using the downstairs one to leave the one next to the bedroom free. Crashed I just went down with a wallop. Felt lousy, couldn't get up or call out. Anee had woken up with the noise and realissed I was in serious trouble and called the Ambulance. Finished up in the Queen Elizabeth and 2 units of blood that afternoon - a further 2 units the following day - must have drained bothe arms and legs! Had to endure the awfull Endoscopy experience - not a recommended passtime. And am now on double lots of antibiotics, antacid type stuff, Iron etc. I'm sure I'm rattling. And no specific reason for what caused the blood loss, it must yhave gone somewhere. the previous week I hadd noticed my stools were jet black, the it cleared up, put that down to the change in water from the holiday.

So that's it folks I am here, so be gentle with me!

I do admire your endurance, doug.

I would have given up ages ago - in fact I did!

All good wishes to you and your wife. I sincerely hope that you get over these setbacks quickly - and start taking things a bit easier.

We ain't spring chickens any more.

Thanks folks, will be posting, in due course re medical progress and also I thought I might post some pictures as to how I tackled Katherines loft. They do say that life is one grand adventure, trouble is I don't know anyone that got out alive to report on it.

Pleased to read you are both OK Doug.

As for Gran Canaria, they can stick the place where the sun don't shine. Once was enough for me, absolutely hate the place.

I think it's about time you started having your rest breaks somewhere nearer home. Like home for instance.

Regards to both of you. Start and take it easy though.
