What are you having for dinner today?

I'm in two minds whether to have Pig Chops or Beef Olives with my Roast Potato's and veg tonight. Five minutes to go before I decide. I think it might be Beef Olives though.

Nothing. Last night when I switched the cooker oven on there was a sharp flash and the house fell into silent mode. When I checked to fuse box the main trip had tripped off. After I had reset it the house sprung back to life and i discovered that the heating element in the cooker has gone for a burton. Anything I have tonight will have to come out of the Microwave. I've ordered a new Element for the cooker but it won't be here until Friday. Just my luck.

No cooker gives you an excellent reason to test out andsomes rolled oat porridge recommendation for a few days.

I have it almost every day, with a generous helping of blue berries. Highly nutritious

Roast lamb & roast vegetables with fine beans, gravy & mint sauce.

My mint plants are just about big enough to pick so it will be fresh mint sauce.

Yesterday was the remainder of the roast lamb with new potatoes and more fine beans + mint sauce.

Today is meatloaf (recipe detailed in Recipes section) with salad.

Linguine with a commercial (Barilla) olive & tomato sauce. The sauce (12 bottles) was a gift a long time ago (best before 12/07/17) but it's perfectly wholesome - just checked it - and I do understand the difference between the various freshness indicators.

I don't know why it wasn't eaten within its date, it just seems to have been shoved at the back of a cupboard and forgotten.

Roast chicken, stuffin', roasties and veg.

Strawberries and cream to follow.

This will be accompanied by a very nice New Zealand Malborough white called Brancott Estate. Bargain at between £7 and £9 depending on source. Our local Spar has it on offer for £6.99. I bought 6 bottles.
