catgate
Please can some kind person tell me what I need to do in order to insert a picture into a post?
Belatucadrus
Is this a picture on your PC or something on the web you want to use ?
catgate
It is at present just a mythical creature, but once or twice I have felt that a a picture would save many words. I think it is probably going to be pictures/photos on my PC. G
andsome
Right click on your picture and select copy, then right click where you want it in your post and select paste. If it’s too big you will get a message telling you so. In that case use a reducing program and try again.
Belatucadrus
Interesting, I've not used andsomes method and to be honest can't get it to work. For files on the PC I either open the image and drag and drop or click on the "choose files" link at the bottom left of the text box. Is that the Game of Thrones or the Lord of the Rings version ? ..... rather than the conventional Drag 'n' drop

D4\/!d
Dunno what I am doing different each time, but this image gave me handles so I could reduce the size, unlike the Theakstons one above, how peculier.
Boris
The Theakstons must have been in a sleever glass rather than a tankard ?
D4\/!d
I have never called them sleevers, we use the word Conical. My preferred beer glass is a Tulip
andsome
As I said. I can right click/copy/ then right click/paste.
Belatucadrus
Must try it on my Windows laptop, all I get when I try on the linux machine is it shows the disk location of the image file in question. Must be a Linux thing, testing andsomes suggestion on Windows and it works exactly as described.

D4\/!d
By no means the beer it was, now owned by Interbrew or is it AB InBev now, brewing is contracted out - I am not even sure you can get this on cask anymore, just keg fizz only, perhaps. I simply did a Dragon Drop with this image from a google search. You could not have chosen a better subject for your demo. 'Tis indeed the best lotion in the land. Many years ago we had a serious technical problem in the factory that was beyond our engineer's ability to correct. We got a rep. from the manufacturers to come and have a look at matters. He soon had things running but he said he would not go immediately but would wait for an hour or two just to ensure that he had solved the problem permanently, which he did. It was lunch time and so I took him out to a relatively nearby inn/pub/hotel for some lunch (the works canteen was not even two star). As you will now have guessed it served Old Peculier either in bottle or our of the barrel. Of course the barrel stuff was slightly better, but the bottled was head and shoulders over anything else on sale anywhere in the country. The technical engineer continued to visit for several years......
