Android frustration

I hope that this is in the right section..  If not can a mod move it please.

I did not like the Windows system on a mobile phone, but I get irritated by the Android system too.  I seem to get a never ending load of updates. Almost daily there is at least one update, and sometimes three or four. This is just one irritation, the other is to do with apps. Several times I have fancied trying a recommended app and have downloaded it.  After a day or two I decide that I don't like it but there is frequently no way of uninstalling it.  One or two will uninstall OK but the majority do not offer that option. When I look in the apps settings I can 'force stop' or 'disable', but invariably I am told that if I carry on it may cause problems. I wonder why the hell they make things so difficult.

No help to you, andsome but any and all "smart" phones that I have had ended up being remodelled with a hammer.

My mobile phone does what a phone is supposed to do - allow oral communication over a long distance.

Calendar Clock  Cloud print  e mail  Google play books  Google play games  Google play movies and TV  Google play movies  Hangouts  Radio

Some of the above were already on the phone when it was purchased, the rest were downloaded.  I don't want any of the above.  There were others that I have succeeder in uninstalling .

Some apps - they don't call 'em programs - some apps cannot be Un-installed. But sometimes they can be Disabled (Settings>Application Manager), sometimes its greyed out so you cannot.

To uninstall try SD Maid, but take care, it is powerful, and there is no backup (acronis/system restore) to return to.

You'll get to like your new Android, I promise. Just let it do what it does.

Remember this IT world is where today's folk were born n' bred, they live in it, we are merely occasional visitors.

Hope that helps,

I have had it for almost a year now, and do prefer it to ye Windows one I had before. I have disabled or force stopped some apps but always get a warning that I will be blown up if I carry on. So far no explosion.

Gorgeous one, when the time comes for you to go, heaven forbid, there will be far more than an explosion!

Ignore that nanny state warning, I do. Glad you are getting used to it. Try using things you think you don't need. No, go on do it.

For example I am not a gamer, not at all. Yet I have just started playing a few Candy Crush type games and d'you know what its fun, no really. Try it.

I will definitely NOT be playing games, there are not enough hours in the day.  I will NOT be going to heaven either. I firmly believe that dead is just that DEAD.  Others are of course free to believe in what they will. :hi:
