AlanHo Posted February 23, 2018 Report Share Posted February 23, 2018 My oldest friend Mick died yesterday - he had a funny turn and his wife June took him to the doctors. He went quiet on the way there and by the time she parked in the doctor's car park he was dead. I have felt morose all day after we went to see June this afternoon. They believe he died from the results of a blood clot on his intestines of all places. He was a lovely man and I will really miss him. I've been to Venice many times but never been able to quite locate the spot on the Lido where von Aschenbach died as depicted in the film.
