andsome
Interesting site that, thanks. Using Norton personal firewall and Google bar. Only saw one pop up, and that was the one set to work on entry to the site. It did NOT pop up on exit. I'm quite happy with that.

Tony
Hi I used EMS Free Surfer for about 2 years and i must say that it was very good, the PC internal speaker gave a little beep every time a pop up was stopped.I now use the google tool bar, which is ok, but since i installed the latest Kerio Firewall the google tool bar pop up stopper is now defunkt.Cos the firewall stops all the pop up as they pass through it.On the test link you gave i only failed on the 3 floating pop ups.Tony
andsome
With the amount of pop up stopper software now available, I'm surprised that company's still bother using it.
-pops-
Continuing from andsome's post, popups seem to be universally disliked so, even ignoring the presence of stopping software, why was it considered that popups were a good sales method at all? Irritating your potential customer is not the best way of increasing sales.

Irritating your potential customer is not the best way of increasing sales.Couldn't agree more. So many advertisers seem to be totally ignorant of what constitutes a good advert. I never cease to be surprised at how many advertisers on Classic FM radio include aggressive irritating pop in their adverts. They don't appear to have the common sense to appreciate the fact that the people listening to this radio station are hardly likely to appreciate these adverts. I do not listen to pop stations, but I would hardly expect advertisers on such stations to advertise to the background music of a Mahler symphony.
