I must have sold a dozen or so things on ebay and have purchased quite a lot off the site.I sold THIS car stereo in less than 24 hours. -pops- Posted July 10, 2005 Report Share Posted July 10, 2005 As well as my new enture on eBay, I have also begun selling some of my large collection of books on Amazon Marketplace.Amazon Marketplace allows you to offer your book(s) on their website alongside their own offering of the same item, new. The placement is free but there is a small charge made when the item sells. Amazon do all the paperwork for you so all there is to do is print out the delivery note, put the book in the post and the money is deposited in your bank account once a month. The only restriction is that your book must be on the Amazon database. This is not a problem as almost all books that have an ISBN are in there so even if they don't sell the book themselves, it is possible to list it.Made £625+ so far on that. Best one on this was a book at £0·01 + £1·50 packing on eBay and sold it for £11·50 on Amazon.If you're thinking of doing this, check carefully on Amazon that the book you're thinking of selling is reasonably popular and that it is likely to sell. Tony Posted July 11, 2005 Report Share Posted July 11, 2005 HiYes i use Ebay, quite a lot, buying and selling.The biggest item i brought was our VCR (Brand New), we got it from an ebay company for about 40% cheaper than it was in the shops.The biggest item i have sold was a set of 5 Dunlop 195/60/15 tyers with the wheels.They only cost €15.00 to send to the winning bidder. i got €250.00 for them, not bad, as they came off my old car, i would of kept them but they were the wrong size.Over here in Germany it is all mostly done by Bank Transfer. I have and theres people getting ripped off all the time :oConsidering the volume of business they do and as they cannot control (other than feedback and ratings) the ethics of the sellers or buyers.Personally I would guess the probability of getting ripped off (assuming you are buying from or selling to an Ebayer with good ratings and reviews) to be remote at best.I have been ripped of by retailers on the net but never through Ebay.
