I would miss my crown green bowls too much in the summer though. Lawn bowls is better than nothing, I play the indoor version in the winter. Nothing however beats a nice game of outdoor crown green bowls, on a wet and windy cold day, with the rain lashing down. Can't beat the good old crown green bowls, on a green with a decent and uneven crown. According to the manual, the internal memory will be retained for 30 minutes in the event of power loss. Two hours later, it's still reading the old time. CurlyWhirly Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 Why is it I always have some errant piece of electronic equipment that refuses to accept the new time?I had the same trouble with my DVD recorder as the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) is supposed to be regularly updated thanks to the time and date information broadcast by the TV channels but since the clock went back last night, it still hasn't updated :( I have followed the manual instructions but the option to alter the clock setting is unavailable so I had to disconnect it for at least an hour to be able to attempt a manual override which I am glad to say has now worked.So much for so called modern technology!p.s. I had to set the correct time and date as otherwise when I record TV programmes while I am in work for example, the programme wouldn't record properly as the recorder would record the programme an hour early which isn't much use as most (if not all) of the programme doesn't get recorded!Nothing however beats a nice game of outdoor crown green bowls, on a wet and windy cold day, with the rain lashing downHow on earth can you enjoy a game of bowls played on a wet and windy cold day? :blink: If I was a bowls player, I would rather the weather was sunny! Although having said that, yes it is better on a nice day, but is still enjoyable when the weather is bad, as long as you have a good set of waterproofs. I have played in sleet, thunder storms, gales and occasionally in a heat wave. TOUGH WE CROWN GREEN BOWLERS ARE.Just about to set off for an indoor lawn rules match against a visiting team.
