More Britons believe in ghosts than God, according to research. A total of 2,012 people were polled on their beliefs on the supernatural.

Over two thirds (68%) said they believe in the existence of ghosts and spirits.

Just over half (55%) said they believe in the existence of a God.

Some 26% believe in UFO's, 19% in reincarnation and 4% in the mythical Loch Ness Monster.

The survey found 12% believe they have actually seen a ghost.

Just over three quarters, (76%) said that reality TV shows and films like The Blair Witch Project have helped convince them spooks and ghouls really exist.

No, I don't believe it but I did find it funny.

One of the problems here is that the USA doesn't have a long enough history to have acquired proper ghosts.

If you ask some native Americans - those with a knowledge of their antecedents - I'm sure you will find a very rich ghostly history.

If you believe in a God, then it stands to reason that you must believe in ghosts

Ah! the Holy Ghost, of course :D

What I am saying is that if you believe in a God, then you must also accept the fact that that God will not allow you to disappear completely after death. You will have a soul or a ghost whatever you want to call it.

I forgot to mention UFOs. Only an idiot could deny the existence of UFOs. Any aircraft, balloon or anything else in the sky that you don't recognise, can only be an 'Unidentified flying object'.

Why?

It seems to me that if you are going to believe in a God, then you should believe that he is going to keep you going in one way or another after death. If not, there seems to me to be little point in bothering to believe. I always thought that this was the basis of most religions. I like the Muslim one best, where there is going to be a load of virgins waiting for you if you die as a martyr.

The one that said to a bunch of people"You are my chosen people" and also said "All this land will I give thee etc" did not do very well for them "in life", did he? Someone came and took their land and then someone tried to eradicate the entire race. Mind you...it's only what those funny men in their fancy frocks and funny hats say.
