If not, where is the best place to buy Acronis, and should I go for a download and make my own CD, or go for a boxed version? If I go for this program, can I copy it to a CD? For something as important as a backup, it is perhaps best to use software that can be recommended by users.I've used Acronis for several years now - under real recovery conditions and it has always worked. It does have to be set up correctly, of course.This new thing is an unknown and I feel that for people like you and I, others ought to give it the thumbs up first. Thos Posted December 9, 2005 Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 I also bought V8 on pops recommendation and have been very happy with it. I cannot see enough in V9 to justify an upgrade. One of the features in V9 is to free up disc space by disabling System Restore. Now I may be nuts but I personally value System Restore and have used it a few times to get me out of a tricky situation. So I wouldn't want to do that. The other new features don't really interest me.The boxed Acronis 8 is widely available, I think.
