It depends on when you started paying into the Social Security system.The government keeps raising the age 'cause the don't want people to have access to their money. :angry: (But that's another story)However, a lot of businesses here offer discounts to those 55 and older because so many people here are barely getting by on their incomes. I haven't been able to work for 2 years now, due to a disability and I'm still trying to get my Social Security benefits. I am waiting to go before a judge to state my case but it can take two years and sometimes more to get a hearing.Meanwhile I'm surviving on a small disability pension from my former employer. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
