Dear everyone

I'm going to Brighton for a few days on Tuesday. I've got to attend a conference there.(I've been madly preparing for it which is why I've been a bit quiet over the last week or so! ) I've been hoping that they would have an earthquake or something so I wouldn't have to go... but I don't think that is going to happen.

Ho hum.... I shall be back late on Thursday but I'm sure Chris and Craig and the rest of the gang will look after you while I'm gone.

I'm going to be staying here which is a bit posh for me to be honest!!! The web site doesn't give you much information though... has anyone stayed there??? I really need to know if they have hair dryers in the rooms or if I need to take mine.

Almost 100% sure there are - last stayed there a couple of years back.

For it to qualify for just the AA's one-star rating a hotel will be require to have a hair dryer in everv bedroom by 1 January 2008 :) - so as this is a five-star rated palace - you'll probably have one for each hand ?

I've stayed there - very nice place. Don't know about hairdryers as I have a No 1 cut and a dryer isn't much use to me.

I've had superb kippers for breakfast and they used to do local lobster for both lunch and dinner.

If you're not familiar with Brighton, make sure you go to the Pavilion where the Prince Regent exercised all his excesses.

A nice, over-the-top pub near the Grand is the Regency Tavern. It's a gay pub but don't let that put you off. Its decor is as extreme as the Pavilion itself. Ask directions at the hotel - most of the staff probably go there anyway.

Have a nice time :)

Ive had a conference there too ...years ago .. room was a bit on the small side , but I was quite surprised how big the conference hall was ...

We had our evening meal there in the same hall , not bad consisdering the numbers that they had to serve

Yes, theres hair driers there ................

Our conferences are no longer black tie ...that was our last but one ...they now tend to be themed and casual , two years back it was Alton Towers, where we had a the following day on the rides ...tidy fun
