Seems slow

I normally come here at about 6 am - at which time it is almost always the "wading through treacle in flippers" type of speed. It gained normal speed at about 6-30. As it was so consistent, I thought it might be backing up or some such but, today it was so bad, I had time outs like you did, artist.

It's been varying a lot lately. Today things are not too bad, but at times it's like crawling through treacle. Chris or Craig said something about it depending on what the little number was in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. The one in between ?? seconds and ?? queies. Evidently the highr the number at a given time, the slower things are.

That's OK if you have a page up to look at but these time outs first occur before anything has loaded.

You have to wait thirty minute for the page to load, and then have a look. :D :D

  • 1 month later...

I am having problems with the Forum again. When I click on a link to the Forum or another page within the Forum - just the header appears and the rest of the page stays blank for a long time - up to 2 minutes on occasions. Sometimes the page refuses to fully appear, no matter how long I wait - and if it does not time out - I have to keep refreshing the page to get it to appear in full.

The problem applies to both my desktop and wireless connected laptop computers at almost any time of the day or night..

Are there any tweaks I can apply to avoid the problem.

I had to log in this morning (unusual) and the site is quite slow - but I've known it worse!

I agree. It's just here - none of the other forums I frequent are like it. :(

I agree that it's only this one. occasionally I am also required to log on.
