AlanHo
I would like to start a campaign against exceedingly long log-in names on the Forum. It is exceedingly irritating to have to read such exceedingly long names to identify the person making the post.I believe it to be exceedingly important for Admin to set a log-in name length limit and to remonstrate with those who exceed this reasonable limit by an exceedingly unecessary amount.I would like to point out that I am trying to make an exceedingly reasonable request and I am not pointing an exceedingly accusative finger at any particular member of this exceedingly enjoyable Forum........ ;)
trackrat
I think that is an exceedingly reasonable request Alan. :D

This is why my log in name is short and exceedingly accurate in its description. :D :D

In future, anyone who uses a very, very, if not exceedingly, long log-in name should be referred to as "shorty".Thos.

AlanHo
Shame on you Alan - you've started the year off with a moan!!You evidently don't know the difference between a moan and an exceedingly honest and very, very well meaning proposal. I refute your exceedingly scandalous allegation that I was moaning. The very, very logic in my proposal is that exceedingly long log-in names are very, very truncated in the header and you are not able to see the exceedingly full identity of the originator. catgate
I think the answer to this problem is to simply use the membership number of each member, and then have a look-up table for anyone who can not identify the member by the number/avatar combination. I think it would take a good number of years before the "name" panel became even half full of numbers.
Tankus
might set off an inferiority complex in the higher numbers .....?and then theres the lucky ones ....... !and a potential source of revenue , as some number sequences could be sold to the highest bidder as they look like words ... It all might get exceedingly tedious ............!

AlanHo
I would like to add to the campaign a plea against the shouting of Log-in names by putting them in CAPITAL LETTERS.Like most people, I would like to enjoy a nice quiet peaceful life and really don't need members to shout their names at me - even when they have been reduced to the exceedingly minimum length.
