Scarecrow Man
Looks a great car and wide open roads to go on, too.Thos.Roads in my area are very wide open. I've never been, but I heard UK roads are quite narrow and winding. Our roads are usually 2 lane or 4 lane, and are wide enough to fit a car sideways on each side. Not to mention the shoulders being wide enough to also hold a car. Then I live in the country, so I rarely see another car on my road, so I have the whole thing to myself! :)
rong
Our narrow winding roads are more fun to drive on if you have a car that will go around bends.

rong
Not the American stuff, they have only just managed to build a sports car that is safe on anything but a straight road.

nellie2
Nice car.... I wouldn't be much good driving on the wrong side of the road, I tried it in Greece once and it was a real waste of a hire car because I wouldn't go anywhere where there were other cars or traffic lights. Chris
Nice; but it's an Automatic...you don't deserve one yet. :Pp.s. that handbrake looks a little toooo vertical-ish.
Irene
Nice; but it's an Automatic...you don't deserve one yet. The only way to go!Chris, when I get my automatic SLK, I stop by and give you a spin. :D
Irene
Nice car.... I wouldn't be much good driving on the wrong side of the road, I tried it in Greece once and it was a real waste of a hire car because I wouldn't go anywhere where there were other cars or traffic lights. I find the most difficult process is looking in the correct place for the rear-view mirror, reaching for the hand-brake and turning left at a T-junction. Scarecrow Man
I know.. I know.. It's automatic.I promised myself I would NEVER buy an automatic, but this model never came with a manual transmission so I did not have much choice. I did however, push my foot to the floor looking for the clutch when starting the car - and coming to a stop for the first few days! If it makes you feel any better, my truck (in scrap car heaven), my old car (scrap car heaven) and the red car in the background are manual transmission (truck was 4 speed, cars were 5 speed).Handbrake is up because it's being used I was parked on a slight incline and did not want it rolling away on me.rong is right. Our cars are much bigger, and navigating around narrow corners (for some), is a difficult task.
deuces wild
Handbrake is up because it's being usedI thought you may have dropped a Viagra pill in the gas tank.
andsome
Having had two automatics I would never go back to manual again, especially on crowded British roads.
doug
Have to have an automatic because of wife and her MS. Just about to get a new one which then has to be modified to put an extra accelerator pedal (gas pedal?) in so she can drive it with her left foot - the 2 pedals are interchangeable one is up while the other is down. Have to remember to set it correctly for whenever it goes in for service. Expect to take delivery of a new Peugeot 307 SE on 12 March. As it's an Estate car I wont strain my gut so much while lifting her electric shopping buggy up over the tailgate - have had a few too many birthdays!
