A huge row has broken out over a reality game show by the makers of Big Brother which will see a terminally-ill woman choose a recipient for her kidneys.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf said The Big Donor Show, on channel BNN, would see a dying 37-year-old woman - identified only as Lisa - choose from three people with kidney problems.

She will make her choice based on the contestants' history, profile and conversations with their families and friends.

Viewers will be able to send text messages advising her during the 80-minute show

Just when you thought that endermol couldn't get any lower .!..This programme would be illegal here in the UK ..apparently

This is absolute rock bottom in the league of decency.

I used to have respect for the Dutch outlook on life - I hope they give this show the viewership it deserves. Mr Mol - the owner of Endemol should have his kidneys wrenched from his body and fed to the dogs for even contemplating this obscenity.

It is claimed the programme highlights a shortage of donors in Holland. No it doesn't at all. It provides a viewing platform for the sick and perverted.

Yuk!

Couldn't possibly agree more. Catering for the lowest possible taste. :(

Although not appropriate as a tv show I have no problem with the donor selecting who will get the organ(s) provided the possible recipients have equal needs medically as determined by their medical history and exams.

The whole point of our disgust, is that this is being broadcast as a television programme. This is what we find upsetting, the voyeurism.

T

It also highlights the shortage of the will to make good television programmes. It is, as I commented recently, "free public performers" and rip off phone-in scams. Head I win, tails you lose.

It's time the world saw the end o' Mol.

edit.

You have to admit, though, that just when one think standards can get no lower, some moron comes along and shows one just how misguided one can be.
