It is so open to distortion that it is "for amusement only" in many cases. I ran Linux for several months before I remembered to alter mine, As I also did with a change of machine.

To be of any use, the information needs to be filled in correctly. All too often it isn't.

That's why gender and country is normally sufficient. If someone asks for help, then the relevant questions can be asked.

You could arrange the questions into two parts. Those that are a requirement, and MUST be completed, and those that are optional, but of interest.
That's a good idea.

Why DOB?
It may not necessary for WF advice, it is still of interest to some of us.

Also, if you don't have DOB, how can you show birthday celebrations?

Gender, Country, Language, and System info which you can fill in your self like a form:

actually a small piece of space, like your signature [the same idea, but only able to be seen in your profile], where you can enter system info about your computer: something like this:

Computer: what kind of computer you have [Desktop, Laptop, Notebook, etc.]

OS: fill in your os [Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux..., etc.]

etc., etc., etc.

would be nice

I just noticed some drop-down's on my profile for Gender, DOB and Location.

Is this new? Did I miss it before?

Anyway, I really like it. :D

You missed it.

Strange really, I filled mine in ages ago but forgot it.

hmm a form, we do have that but it's for other things, so yes we could have that [i'd have to create it]. But there is no way to prevent anyone from putting whatever they like.

yeah, its true you cant check the form boxes, but you can make them only support text [no HTML coding and such] which narrows down the chance of other use [but make sure you do enable the ability to use Enter's to go to the next line]

you could also make an option to enable or disable the "Computer Specification Form", or is that to complicated?

about your 2nd screenshot: looks nice!, maybe a title above the form would be nice[?], like:

Computer Specifications:

etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.

this might also keep people from putting other stuff in it, since it would look really weird if you would do something like this:

Computer Specifications:

today was a nice day, kinda rainy though.

Yesterday i went shopping and when i got back i was shot by a talking banana. Too bad...

[this is not based on a true story]

let me know
